Mike Lawson joined his father-in-law’s fuel distribution company at the age of 25. Seventeen years later, he purchased the family business and relocated the company headquarters to his hometown of Norman, Oklahoma. Today, Mike oversees his fuel logistics company, Lawson Transportation, and his retail entity, Lawson Retail Operations.
In 2017, Mike and his valued team decided to test their retail operational skills by acquiring and operating their first convenience store. Based on their success, it was evident that retail would be an opportunity for growth. That was the catalyst for creating Roaster’s Market.
The intent was to create a visually unique destination that would compete on the level of Starbucks, Panera Bread, Chick-fil-A, Sheetz and Wawa. Working with his associates and the design & branding teams at Paragon Branding Solutions, Roaster’s Market was born. On June 16, 2020, it opened its doors for the first time in Ada, Oklahoma.
Today, Lawson proudly operates two Roaster’s Markets located in Ada and Chickasha, Oklahoma. Also in his retail portfolio are two convenience stores located in Oklahoma, which are branded Lawsons Local Market.
